History of conference
The Third International Symposiumon Stochastic Models in Reliability Engineering, Life Sciences and Operations Management (SMRLO’18) is one of the most influential academic conferences on stochastic modeling and methods. The conference was initiated by several Israeli professors. It was first held in Beer Sheva, Israel, on February 15-17, 2005, named as “International Symposium on Stochastic Models in Reliability, Safety, Security and Logistics”. The conference was later renamed in 2010 as “The First International Symposiumon Stochastic Models in Reliability Engineering, Life Sciences and Operations Management” and held in Beer Sheva, Israel, on February 8-11, 2010. The second symposium was held in Beer Sheva, Israel, on February 15-18, 2016. A total of 200 scholars from Israel, the United States, Canada, Canada, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Russia, Japan, Korea, Norway, Greece, France, Australia, Germany, Sweden and China attended the conference, including 8 Chinese scholars from Zhejiang University, Beijing Institute of Technology, and Changsha University of Science and Technology. After the symposium, Dr. Ilia B. from Shamoon College of Engineering and Dr. Anatoly Lisnianski from Israel Electric Corporation published an academic monograph by Springer. With focused research topics and famous scholars in similar fields, the symposium can effectively promote academic communication and greatly benefit the participants.
The current symposium focuses on stochastic models and methods in the fields of reliability engineering, life sciences and operations management.
